The National Federation of Electrical and Thermal Testing (NFETT) is an association that has recently been formed in order to provide businesses who specialise in electrical and thermal testing, an electrical trade federation that they can become fully-fledged members of, with no limited scope or partial membership, but providing they are able to demonstrate that they meet all of the entry requirements, complete membership.
NFETT provides prospective customers with the reassurance that the electrical and thermal test engineer is not only qualified but competent, insured and experienced in the testing of electrical installations.
Any prospective electrical and thermal testing engineers will have to undergo a vigorous and exacting entry process.
They will have to provide evidence that they possess:
- £10 million public liability insurance cover - minimum.
- Relevant City & Guild test qualifications.
- Electrical testing and inspection qualifications.
- 3 years work experience - with documentation & records to support this.
- Suitable electrical/thermal testing equipment.
- Health & Safety policy and able to carry out risk assessments for each job.
- Suitable, caliberated electrical testing equipment.
Members of NFETT will benefit from the advice and support of electrical and thermal testing specialists who can offer in depth knowledge and expertise.
Unlike other trade associations, it is the individual that holds the membership with NFETT and not the company, there by ensuring that the individual that performs the actual electrical and thermal testing is competent.
In order to keep up to date with the ever changing legislation NFETT provides members with quarterly newsletters.
Subscription and benefits.
- Regular updates on changes to any relevant legislation.
- Best practise advice.
- Network with others in the electrical and thermal testing industry
- Health & Safety guidance
